Piece together a turbo setup, and do it yourself. Learn as much as you can from it. It is what being a car guy is all about.

He said he wants to do a turbo swap.

There's a lot more to be gained from the swap (engine, transmission and ECU) than just throwing a bunch of parts, new or not, onto an old 12A/13B that our cars started their lives with.

If shopping properly, you can rebuild the engine yourself, buy all the parts and piece it together and make tons more power than what you can just from stock 12at swap, and if he is looking to do a 13b t2 swap, he'll be looking at more money than 3,000 dollars to begin with. This is entirely assuming he is doing all the work himself. Plus if he pieces together a 12a turbo himself, he can use the stock transmission, stock motor mounting location, not have to worry about ecu, and tune everything to exactly how you want it.

If he wants to do a turbo swap, then whatever, his choice. If he goes JDM 12at, then he'll be looking at a setup that can only support stock numbers until he does a custom front mount, increase size of injectors, and tweak the ecu anyway, and stock it won't produce even close to the same as what it would if you pieced together your own turbo setup.

Regardless - his choice. I was just bringing up another option over the turbo swap.

You would not Turbo your Se motor. You get a S4 or S5 motor and rebuild it with turbo spec parts then get the appropriate components for it.

Let me ask you this first. What condition is your car in? I mean have you gone thru the entire suspension/steering/brakes etc.... What condition is the upholstery and paint in?

For 3,000 I don't think you're going to be able to make a gigantic jump in power over just buying the engine/transmission/ECU combo that he wants (which, from what I've gathered in his posts, is an S4 T2's) and piecing together the parts to rebuild your 12A, get the intake/exhaust manifolds, carburator, turbo, necessary pieces to plumb said turbo kit and anything else I'm forgetting about and still be able to make the power you're talking about reliably.https://www.rx7club.com/newreply.php...ply&p=6519107#

You wouldn't mind posting up pictures of the car inside and outside? I always like to see very clean 7's.
