goddamn 7
i'm really pissed off right now, i've been doing some rust work on the 7, i had a hole in the bottom lip of the back right fender, so i was fixing that and while i was scraping off the oil undecoating, i put a hole right through the back of the wheel well, i knew i had some bin rust, but i didn't think it was that bad, so now i have that to fix up as well, anyways i pulled out the passanger seat and i noticed that the padding under the carpet is completely soaked with coolant, pulled the carpet up, and surpise, surprise all of the metal around the sound deadening tar is covered in rust. the amount of winter work i had left to do just tripled in under 20 minutes, damn annoying, i seem to have the worst luck with this ****, i'm seriously considering just disconnecting the heater core, rather then going through the pain of pulling the dash apart to replace it.

The problem with goin down to the states and bringing one back up (since he's from canada and all) is the fact that its US funds... aswells as bringing it across the border can be somewhat of a hassle, and then one has to get it inspected and tested before it can be plated and insured in any province..

Yes you can pass it with fiberglass. I dont see anything with saftey issues on fenders and rocker panels using fiberglass myself. Atleast the fiber glass wont rust, but if not done right the metal around will continue, so seal it up good with paint, and CUT ALL the rusty metal off, then FG the holes. I'm good at this because I have a chevy van thats a rolling clad of fiberglass, and Marglass (Find it, its good ****!! Its heavy bondy with big strands of fiberglass) oh and about 6 different colors of primer. The newer of the spots didnt rust up, while others did (i was 15 when I started 20 now). The bin rust happens, be sure to check under the friggin floor, because I had about 6-8'' holes on each side, guess where that car went? I found a clean GSL-SE up noth that on has scratched paint( walk in the park)

I hate rust! And if I had a scanner here I'd show you pics that would make you cry. (PA winters are hell) Anyway, I'm super rust aggressive anymore. Get it all while you still have metal there.
But my theme of the day is: if you don't know about POR 15 go to your local paint shop and get some! Just make sure you lay down a good coat of primer if you aren't going to give it a nice paint job immeadiately as the POR 15 will not protect against UV. But rust...ahhhhhh, it kills that and the paint hardens quite nicely to make shield against future rusting. (Then you can sleep easy knowing you'll never have to deal with such a PITA again....in that area)
Oh, and if you aren't a directions person, do not put the dirty brush in the POR 15 that you aren't using. It will activate the paint and the whole thing will harden on you. Waste o' $$$
