get rid of pop ups
I looked for that post on what to set a while back but couldn't find it. I wondered if it was removed so that the site owner could still post ads and get money from advertisers. You have to put a line in your hosts file...on a Windows machine the hosts file is in windows->system32->drivers->etc. I think this is the line you have to add:
127.0.0.1 rx7club.us.intellitxt.com

127.0.0.1 rx7club.us.intellitxt.com

No offense but this question is not even remotely related to 1st generation RX-7. A search in the lounge or suggestions area would reveal the answer:
Add to hosts file:
127.0.0.1 *.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 rx7club.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 www.rscc.com
There are other ways and syntax to accomplish the same results but that is the one usually posted. It may or may not help with the browser crashing problems; mine still crashes. There was a couple other off-topic threads today, which is why I mention please try to keep on topic. Thank you.

Use notepad (start->programs->accessories->notepad) and open the hosts file. It's located in windows->system32->drivers->etc. On my Linux boxes hosts is located in the /etc folder. Just copy and paste or type in the strings...I think the ip address (127.0.0.1) needs to be separated from the url by a tab, so if you paste them in you should delete the space between them and insert a tab:
127.0.0.1 *.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 rx7club.us.intellitxt.com
127.0.0.1 www.rscc.com
Save it. I think notepad might add a .txt extesion to the file by default. If it does, you will need to navigate to it in Windows explorer and rename it to remove the extension.
I hope this is understandable...I'm not a very good teacher.

I used notepad and it did not add the txt extension. Usually to rename the file and the extension though you need to re-open it using whatever program (notepad in our case) and do a 'save as' where you get a file type selection box where you can change the file type. This is for a Windows machine.

The best and most reliable way to rename is to use Windows explorer...then you know exactly what name you are getting. Some software automatically adds the extension it wants you to have.

Ok, i got it. Follow 64mgb instructions in notepad. Open the etc file change the file type to All files then open the hosts file. Drop it his code ontop of the other at the top and its all set. Hope this makes sence.
64mgb, it worked, thank you very much!
I would like to add that ect is an actual file folder, and not short for ectera.
And to the pedantic *** that said this isn't related to 1st gen forum, I searched and searched for this topic before. Besides, if the annoying double lines, pop up are in the 1st gen forum, then it is appropiate that instructions on how to block them are also in the 1st gen forum.
Also there are over 200 views of this topic, hence 1st gen forum users were interested in the post!!

I'll admit that they can be annoying, but I figure that since they're here to help pay the costs of keeping this forum running, I'll leave mine alone. I even click on one once in a while, just to show my support.
