wheel offsets for superlites

I found some wheels I'm considering buying, http://www.packracingproducts.com/ac...te_Wheels.html
was wondering if any of you guys had experience with these wheels and more importantly what offset I would need on my 84 gs. Would've searched the old threads but I wanted to know if anyone else had these wheels and if they are lighter than stock? Thanks

Can't help with the offsett, but 18.9 lbs. is not what I would call super light.

In my '85 GSL I was running Kosei K1 15X7s with a +42mm offset and it cleared everything fine 205/50 tires if that helps.

Do you have any pictures of your wheels I would like to see them? Yea I just saw on the website 18.9 lbs, but then I replaced the 3 cats with a bonez system that weighed about half the original, so I wouldn't feel so bad about adding some weight hehe. That's definately false-advertising though and if you know of any similar wheels still in production any advice is appreciated. Also, the fitment guide only show series 1 and 2 RX-7s, what series is the 84?

Sorry the car is a bit dirty and neglected...Its a write-off, and I have a new beauty to take care of. Lots of people dont like the K1 rims, but I thought they looked awesome with a silver car. Too bad they are NLA.

Ok, so Gen1onr says +42 and 13Beef says +20. Where is the difference coming from. It seems like that would be a material amount. Offset be always be the same regardless of wheel design right? I was thinking about getting the packracing wheels some time in the future, but that weight concerns me. Maybe by the time get around to buying wheels, I'll be able to afford some Panasports.

It all depends on the width of the rim...13beef doesnt state if this is stock width or aftermarket. Since he asks about rims in general...there is no offset that will fit. It all has to do with the width of the wheel.
The 79-80 according to 13beef are +20 and thats because the suspension is different from the FB. All FBs are the same and comparatively he said +38...not a very far cry from my +42...if 13beef is talking about wheels with a 6.5" width, and I 7" width we would both be correct.

What it comes down to is the width of the rim.

Im not trying to get in a fight here, but I can say from experience that I ran a 15X7 rim with a +42 offset 205/50 tires... and it didnt rub w/ stock fenders. Thats all I can say.

Thanks for the advice guys I didn't want to buy wheels with a completely wrong offset, what I'm gathering from you guys is that I should get an offset between +38 and +42?

Hey, my friend has the 14.7 superlites on his 7 from them. They look really good. I'll try and find a pic of them. Hold on.

18 pounds is very heavy for wheels, add a low profile tire and you will quickly be around 30 pounds per tire which will hurt performance a lot.
