Gen1 12A question

Im thinking of getting an SA dirt stock, and thinking of spending no more than $1,500. What would be the best bang for the buck performance wise and what power figure am i looking at.
Just a rough idea would be great guys.

He's also in Australia, so the blokes over there would be better able to give him a real answer...

For 1500, you'd be close to getting a full exhaust and aftermarket carb/intake. Not sure of pricing for parts down under. If done and tuned right, near 140 hp tops.

At the flywheel.
A 44phh Mikuni with a good header/exhaust system will dyno at approx 146BHP.
A weber will probably get you another 4-6 depending on jetting.

Redo your math there amigo. You are 100% wrong on your at the wheels statement.

140 rwhp would be about 165 HP at the flywheel...impressive...my RP big street port with the bone-stock, unported Nikki was at an est 135 HP at the flywheel with the above mentioned exhaust AND a working air pump...IOW, it also passed emissions legally.
