Gen 1, rear space 'backseats' question

Hi Guys, was hopeing for a quick answer to my question about gen 1's.

Do ALL gen 1's (series 1, 2 and 3) have no backseats? (ie only 2 seaters)?

And, could someone post pics of what the back area looks like, ie the whole space behind the front seats?

Thanks for any help.

The storage compartments take up some of the space that the 2+2 abroad had. Attached to the top of the storage bins is 2 metal plates that extends back about one foot. This appears to be the area that the tiny seats would have been put. I will try to take some pics tonight, but figure there is a few guys here that can help you out before then. I have decided to take the liners out of my storage bins and used this as a hiding place for a little power adder and maybe my 2 channel.

All 1st gens imported to the US had the rear seats removed so that extra sheet metal could be added to pass crash testing. If you remove that sheet metal then a set of rear seats will bolt in from what I've read.

RealXhausted7: Yea, those storage compartments are what ive seen, and it does look like there is the provisions for seats.
jim_chung: Cheers, nice pics, and very nice interior, confirms backseats exist!
