The listed items are for 86-88, so i dont think they will fit! But do a search on this forum, and i think you should find something!

ok, so next ? is What the hell can I do to replace the 85 MPH spedo? the connectors on the back of this last cluster seem to be the same. oh, and the 84-85 is not S3 (leastwise I dont think it is with 82 being 1st gen)

also what about the alts? anyone?

First off, to replace the 85 mph speedo, just get a cluster out of an '83. The connectors and everything are the same as your '82, but the speedo goes to 130 mph. It is a direct bolt in. No mods required.

When Gregs referred to series 3 (S3), that is a designation typically used by the Aussies. It is used to note design changes. Series 3 is not the same as third gen.

S1 = 79-80
S2 = 81-83
S3 = 84-85
S4 = 86-88
S5 = 89-91
S6 = 93-95

As far as the alts go, the second one ('90 turbo) will bolt in directly with just a wiring mod. Yes, this alt is 80 amp (the third gen alt is 100 amp). The thread with the wiring mod is listed in the 1st gen FAQ and in the archive. The first alt will not mount directly as the 3rd gens used a different pulley/belt style (serpentine vs. v-belt), so it won't work without the pulley being changed.

I put a TII alt into my '85 and it was a direct bolt in, didn't need to change a thing.
