Fuel tank pick up sock

I'm planning on dropping my tank and having it cleaned out cause I skeep clogging fuel filters. I called Atkins and was told that they no longer sell the sock/filter that goes in the tank . Is there any other one from another car that would fit? Thanks tired of being left on the road like this

There may be but if the astic on yours has not deteriorated you can clean it and reuse it. I've had some that were so brittle that they were not able to be reused. If the tank is super clean, the fuel filter will collect the contaminants from the tank, should there be any. It's a good idea to have the pre filter in the tank, but if you are unable to find one, you can still operate the car without it. You will just have to ensure that your fuel filter is clean and that may require doubling the maintenance interval of filter replacement.

I'd take that as a sign you really need to drop that tank and clean it out. Anything else is just a band-aide. Once its clean you can do without the sock I bet.

79-83 didn't have a sock, so you can do without.

i went looking briefly and there were some Chrysler ones that looked promising, but never followed up on it
