Fuel pump recommendations

What do you guys think I should use on a stock port 12A with Mikuni carb and RB Streetport exhaust? Im not up on what fuel pumps are good for rotary carb setups. Im thinking the Mikuni should run about a 4psi pressure, and I already have a regulator ready to install. Im installing an engine from one of my non titled FB's into a new FB I bought not too long ago. It ran before, but it was starving from fuel, which Im pretty sure was because of the pump being old and worn out. What is the ideal fuel setup for a 12A with upgraded carb? Just a pump and regulator enough? Thanks.

Thanks. I was planning on running that one, but was just checking to see if anyone knew of a magical fuel pump that maybe was far superior somehow. Also have that same fpr, so maybe Im set to go.

Also, excuse the stupid question. Would a suitable location for a pressure gauge be on the non used outlet on the fpr (the one normaly plugged)? The gauge would need to be before the carb am I wrong. Im having a bit of a moment here and cant make myself picture it in my head.

I believe you can, yes. I run mine In-Line between the carb and regulator. Keep the Regulator lines under a foot, and as short as possible.

Off topic question. Does anyone know where to get a set of foam filters for carb air horns? I have a K&N kit for my Mikuni, but Ive always felt that it blocks the flow of air because the horns nearly hit the lid of the filter. Id prefer having a foam round sock over each horn. Anybody know who makes them and where I can buy them?

Socks will kill airflow. I had to compromise. I have the OER which is a derivative of a Weber 45 DCOE. When I took my air horns off, I did not have the lip like the DCOE had, so when I got the air filters for a DCOE, I covered them over the Velocity stacks already on the OER.

Any questions, ask www.piercemanifolds.com

They are where I get all my jets/filters from.

I was refering to something like this.

Is that what you meant you had?

I live in an area with alot of cedar trees, and they produce ALOT of needles that get into every crack and crevice. So I just need something enough to keep large particals out. Which is why I wanted a thin foam filter element.

Yeah, that is what I have. I thought you were talking about those thin pieces you stretch over your air horns.

I wonder if they would fit on my Mikuni. I have forgetton if it was the 40mm or the 44mm. Oh well, either way, Im either going to find some for sale or make my own. Might even make myself an ABS plastic box and route some tubing to the front somewhere for fresh air.
