fuel pump gremlin
I've been having FP issues. With the key on the FP was not working.
I took it out and sprayed some carb cleaner in it to wash it out. I then connected some wires from the battery to the pump and it came on. I plugged it back up under the car and now it doesn't work again.
I checked the female connector with my DC tester and I get a value of 320 something. Turn the key off and I get 0. Turn key back on 320, plug in the FP and it goes to 0.
Any answers?

The gremlin has been contained.
This is basically a car i'm putting back together. I have no history on the car as i bought just several weeks ago.
So, i put the distributor on and connected all the pertinent wires and when i turn the key on the pump does not run. When I turn the engine over the pump runs for as long as the engine is turning.
Just for the record, I unplugged both connectors on the dist. and the pump will not run while turning the engine over. So the dist is necessary for the activation of the pump.
Thanks for all the replies......Scott
