What fuel mileage would i get with a 12a with no porting, weber carb (any suggestions on what is best), and a full RB exhaust?

 

Man you're popping posts up left and right. I think it's time to take a breather and search the forum a little bit. I would do alot of research before you make a final decision to do anything. To answer your question, it depends on what weber you have and what jets it's running

What would you sugest for decent mileage but still good performance. Cheap too.

 

Hum stock nikki is the way to go for best MPG.

 

But they get like zero for performance. Rejeting the nikki?

 

3 things that don't go together. You best bet to try and get all 3 would be a modded Nikki(stock). But basically you have to sacrifice one for the other.

EDIT: If all your looking for is to be loud and go fast, you bought the wrong car. In it's stock form, the car is quick for what it is. You can do cheap things to make it quicker like a proper exhaust, ignition(Direct Fire), and a new air box

Rejetting = more gas..

With the exhaust mod you won't need to mess with the carb. It will unlock it's potential. The Nikki is a nice 4bbl carb that's underrated and choked by a bunch of cats and pumps.

I would be curious as to the MPG with webber it can't be that bad maybe 18-20 hwy?

The Nikki is bigger than say the stock 2 BBL holly on 305 GM small block 5.0 v8's of the 70's (gimpped ones).. but just saying.

 

But it would still get DECENT mileage with just slightly bigger jets.

 

I run a Dellorto ( Weber clone) and get 22-25 mpg out of it and my car runs real good.

 

dellorto dhla, 230/230 with a 225needle, header, exhast and ign box with df. i get about 20mpg but i've got a super heavy foot too.

 

12A streetport w/ modded Nikki, 2ndGenDF/MSD 6A, Full RB SP exhaust.

225 miles out from a full tank with mild punching. More daily driving (up to 5000rpm maybe.) What's that....17mpg range?

 

OK. So i dont need to worry about getting like 10mpg and having to sell the car because i make minimum wage.

 

Definately get the ignition running **** and check the carb, if it needs a rebuild or not.

Don't sell it, I am using it strictly as a daily driver INSTEAD of an '89 Acura Legend with a **** trans (has 2nd and 3rd only!) I get WAY better mileage. 165 vs. 225! I'd say you can get 250 from a full tank with the right stockish setup.

 

What's regular unleaded at up there in WA at the moment, here in L.A. it's up to $3.55! ******* OIL/GOVERNMENT BASTARDS!

 

It is like $3.60 right now here. I know it is rediculous. I cant be paying for that.

Our dollar is hovering around par and where i am i pay 1.08 per litre, which is 4.30 ish per gallon.

Stock is the best way to get MPG. As soon as you up power of any shape or form you lose mpg.

I'd still recommend searching a bit, reading alot and then post specific questions.

I would STILL recommend looking at a Sterling Nikki (www.sterlingmetalworks.com). His flow rates are similar to RB's aftermarket carbs, cheaper, use the stock manifold, and obviously were designed specifically modified for the 1st gen rx7.

it also depends on what you do for daily driving, im driving here in seattle..and i can maybe get 200 to the tank if its city driving, but if its hwy i put just about 325 to the tank....to clarify on the carb...i just bought a dellorto 48mm dhla, they are rare carbs and not a lot of parts are supplied around here for jetting and everything...so you could either go a sterling rebuilt nikki or you could go a weber...if you want some low end power..means you spend time in below 4500 then i would go with a side draft such as the weber 45 dcoe or the weber 47 dcoe..if you will be in above that often then go with the weber 48 ida..and be done with it..it can be run on a stock 12a...with proper tuning and jetting...but it can be sluggish a but on the bottom end bc its a downdraft carb......also just buying a carb isnt it...you will use a bit more gas...you will also need to upgrade your fuel system so fuel pump and regulator...most of the carbs run about no more than 4.5 psi for fuel..and also ignition.....you have been posting a lot..i can tell you if you just search you can find a lot of your answers...don't **** of members...if you want more power..its not just going to super cheap...if you want something cheap and loud..go with a different car...

That Sterling looks pretty good. It still uses the stock manifold too so that is a good thing.

 

Washington has emissions for cars over 25 years old. Otherwise no.

 

since your car is older than 25 yrs old..you don't have to worry about smoging in washington...aka dont worry about emissions...

 

For over or nder 25 years old.

If its 25 years or older then you have basically no options and need to keep it stock.
