Actually no, Idon't drive it that often but I have been around town and on the freeway. I mostly try to get into 3rd though to keep around 2.5 grand. I have gutted cats and a Corksport catback.

I have. Got a ticket for it too. It was downtown Vancouver at like... 3am, and I was in low gear. My own fault.

Running the CorkSport 80mm turbo-back and nothing else.

Im running racing beat downpipe and presilencer to some muffler, is loud as *** and it shoots flames. I have driven by cops at 5k and they havent even looked at me. Im about to get a corksport catback so hopefully it wont get to much louder.

i'm runnin a HKS downpipe and the HKS Hi-Power cat back and fly past or stop by cops with no probs. but then again for the size of the HKS exhaust, its pretty quiet at lower RPMS. now if only i could get my turbo spool to be quiet around cops.........

I ran an exposed header on my NA FB for over a month and never got a second look, but I've been pulled over and ticketed for just a flowmaster muffler on an otherwise stock exhaust. Remember that in WA anything louder than stock is illegal. Or, get a FB and run straight pipes.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.37.390

(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.

(Here's the good part) This subsection (3) does not apply to vehicles twenty-five or more years old or to passenger vehicles being operated off the highways in an organized racing or competitive event conducted by a recognized sanctioning body.

My younger brother has recieved a ticket last month for noise violation and he has a full racing beat exhaust (headers, presilencer, catback). His car isnt too loud below 3500rpm, but quite loud above. I think he was pulled over because of the large chrome exhaust tips. My exhaust has a very deep tone to it and is quite loud (in my opinion) and I never get noticed for it. I have a 3' downpipe to a borla catback.

I've been pulled over twice for my loud exhaust in Oregon. Motoria 3" Turbo back single...

The first time was my fault. I was getting on it on Hall near greenway in Beaverton and a cop was done getting his doughnuts and coffee at 7/11 and heard me fly by and chased me down, gave me a warning for unmuffled engine and a careless driving ticket. (but he failed to file the papers so I got off on that one, the judge said he'd never heard of an unmuffled engine ticket)

The second time I wasn't but barely on the gas. Turned a corner in the rain, just barely brapped it, and he pulls me over and says I heard you from three blocks away. I always tell them "yea I'm on my way to get that fixed." He says, "I can give you a 220 dollar reason to get that fixed."
And that was it...

I'm actually going to try and queit it some... It is pretty loud, at PIR I raced once after 10pm Noise Limit is 90db I put out 97db.. Thats at WOT though.

If its too loud you can always quiet it up some, using mufflers and resonators...

FD with 3" downpipe, 3" midpipe, and 3" HKS HiPower catback... Never been pulled over for the exhaust. Only expired tabs (had a permit), or no front plate, or suspicion of drunk driving??? He must have been bored cuz I was the only car on the road and he pulled out of a driveway and imediately pulled me over... Claimed I was swerving. Whatever...

Actually you will be exempt from the "louder than stock" rule starting in two months. The Racing Beat system is quiet. I wouldn't worry about it.

I got pulled over for noise pollution in town. I was in 2nd at 4k and then shifted into 3rd and then Pow!! A good backfire in front of a cop was too much. It was in a old downtown so it was quite loud. Oops....but I just have a Magnaflow muffler but that has never been an issue anywhere else

i have had my exhaust system for a couple of years now, one year with the racing beat header and i am now getting pulled over for exhaust, its late at night when i get pulled over so basically its just a bored cop plus one was in beaverton where they are always ****** and gresham where they are always ****** so if that explains that reason. got off with warning but still tired of being harassed, they are all just jealous cause they dont have a rotory motor vehicle.

I've been pulled over.... recently posted.

RB headers, presilencer, and dynomax catback. Pretty quiet IMO.

$142, but I am going to fight it. I contacted Mazda and asked about the exhaust level of my car coming out of the factory, so that I could compare and get my system back to "stock" sound. They said they don't keep records of sound levels for the cars coming out. So I am going to court and saying that the cop is wrong, and that it isn't louder then stock. They have to prove that "my" car is louder then stock. Also, the cop would need to take a dB reading and show it is higher then stock.

WA legislation is tarded.

" (3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle "

Guilty as charge. Hahah

I have an FB straight pipe, and then 1 raptor muffler. I got pulled over 3 times on the way to work (I-5), in the same week on my 20 mi commute.

pulled over 3 times with No tickets Each time crusing at about 3500rpm

More detail:
The fist cop came up and was actually laughing asking me what was up with my muffler (loud and stuck out to far) I explaned and he let me go.

The next time it was for being blatently too loud, but I told him that 2 of my exhaust manifold bolts had stripped, I have a helicoil, but have to be to work in 15 minutes. "Is that why you have so many earplugs on the center console?" "Yes sir" Then he let me go

and the 3rd cop actually got me for no front lisence plate, and said "Your car is way too loud its annoying, wheres your lisence plate?" I told him that it was in my room cause I had just painted the bumper and forgot to reattach it. And once again I was let go

-

As it is now I dont know how cops dont pull me over all the time, because Im using straight pipe (pretty much) to a round muffler, very loud, but as long as Im not hi revving all the time its good.

Once I drove to kirkland with just a header, that was so loud I could feel my brain rattling in my head. I swear it was louder than an airplane.

I was pulled over the other night...first time in my fc since 97'! (Thats ******* amazing considering my driving habits!) Hmmm let's see, one headlight..other is used for intake only...expired proof of insurance....he didn't see me, but said he could here me from 8 blocks away..oh yeah...the killer? I was in Beaverton. NO TICKET! hahahahaha I was going like 80! Of course that happens in a few seconds, but still. Very loud and shitty. Sounds like an extremely boosted street bike. I usually only drive it to and from PIR, or home from the shop EVERY once in awhile. Hurts the kidneys too much! Probably helped ticket wise that I am 34 instead of 20!
