Any trick to doing this. Going to do it this weekend and thought its best to ask here prior to changing. I see it under the car just in front of the gas tank.

the filter is right out in the open remove hose clamps holding the lines on the filter. then remove the filter from the clip that it sits in. have the new filter ready to install and know which line goes where (very easy as thereare only two lines and the new filter will install the same way as the old filter) remove one fuel line from the old filter and stick it on the new filter. you will have to be swift as gas will pour out of the filter and the line. do the same for the other side and reclamp the lines and slide the filter back into its bracket. now, before you begin, you will want to have shop towels handy to wipe the gas off of your arms and hands and have a suitable drain to drain the old filter into so that you do not throw it away full of gas. i get my replacement filters from napa. pretty good filter.

Tie rags around your wrists like bracelets. it will prevent gas from getting down to the arm pit.It looks a little silly but works really good.

Is that the only gas filter, most cars have one at the carb?

only one filter, tho some folks here do add one up near the carb.
regardless, this filter should be changed _yearly_! I do mine every spring when I roll her out. And since you will be doing it so often, worth buying a couple of hose pinching clamps that you can pinch off the line on each side of the filter and save yourself the fuel dousing!

Just used the little clamps, worked like a charm. Probably only lost 10 drops of gas. Not much at all.
