Fuel Consumption Poll

Hey Everybody

A thread which was started about fuel consumption caught my eye and I figured the best way to figure things out would be to poll.

The thread can be found here:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=245507

Please post *your* fuel consumption at it's average. Not your "my rx7 makes 28mpg on long road trips on the highway" milage, but your average.

Posting can be helpful, so go ahead and feel free to post some info such as:

MPG: highway/city (on average)
Engine: 12a/13b, stock or not
Boost Mods: Porting, turbo, supercharger, etc...
Ignition Mods: DLIDFIS, MSD box, etc...
Spark Plugs: (do they make a difference?)

and things you've noticed help fuel consumption.

Jon

MPG: highway/city 25-28 highway, mostly cruising at 80 mph, almost no city driving
Engine: 12A, everything stock
Most significant mileage improvement: Finding all those damn vacuum leaks (4 total, each boosting mpg by about 2)

MPG: 15/22
Engine: 12A no cats or smog
Ignition: stock config. with Taylor wires
Spark Plugs: Autolite 2526

All tune up parts are less than 1000 miles old. Carb was also rebuilt 1K ago. No smog pump or any of the A/C components (also no cruise, CSA, HSA, or anything eles thats useless). Exahuast is a nasty 2 1/4 no cats through a "modified" stock muffler.. Don't ask

Edit: Stock airbox with paper element

Ben

mpg. 22/29 mainly rural roads at 60-70mph
Engine. 12A with header, mod Nikki, deleted ap and ac
Ignition. stock but 10mm high performance wires
Spark plugs. NYK

Good performance about 125rwhp and fuel consumption, just cruises perfectly all day every day

Best tip is to flow with the traffic and not both to race Civics. You alreadt know you have the better car so why waste fuel proving it to the underpriveleged!

17.4 average city/highway driving.

Unhooked Vac line for diverter valve (you know, the one that directs air/fuel to the front rotor at decel), Was getting 15.3 before that.

But a lot of my driving is when the car is cold, it's only 6 miles to work.

Before winter hit, I averaged between 15-17 MPG for city driving and just over 27 MPG on the highway. Mods are listed in the sig. Now that it's turned cold, my city mileage has dropped into the 12-13 MPG range.

15-18mpg running a ratio of 13.8:1 at cruise and 10.5:1 at 5-15psi. Still need to tune it a bit better at cruise for better fuel economy.

I suppose the 83 would do better than the 87 if it had a "bonar"

I bet that burban gets about 6?

heavy foot

15-17 city - depending on how much my foot weighs that week,
unknown highway - don't run there often enough to know for sure.
