I have an 82 GSL with the Clarion head unit with the tape player, equalizer below, the two amps, etc. I would like to keep what I have (like the look), but would like to add a CD player. I tried a personal CD player with a cassette adapter, but the cassette player just keeps reversing back and forth (a complaint I've read in other threads). I know Panasonic, Sony, and maybe some others make CD changers that are hooked up to the antenna lead, and play through an FM frequency, Just curious if anyone has ever tried one of those, and if so, did it work ok?

 

my buddy did his on his 2nd gen and mounted the cd changer in the back where the spare goes. works really well. I say go for it!

I got a cassette adapter for my radio so i could play songs from my ipod through the speakers in my 7. I like it keeps it original and sounds good. You can get them at best buy

 

I did try that. The darn tape player keeps reversing every few seconds, which in itself would be okay, except when it reverses the volume goes up and down with each change. If it were not for that, it would sound pretty good.

yeah my ex gf's ford taurus did that with the tape thing. but im not gonna even start comparing our 7s 2 ford taurus's ewwww

lol i hated her car...when i got her 2 get rid of it the damn thing was almost new. I put in a new starter, rotors and pads all around, rear calipers, alt, head gasket, batt, power steering, idler pulley, and one other thing that i cant remember POS CAR!!

Hell that sounds higher mantinece than the 7
