Fixing the interior door
Fixing the interior door
Ok so i singed up on this thread because google searches were a pain in the *** and figure that i would come talk to people that knew something about these cars.
So i boght the car today and was trying to find a cheap way to fix the doors...let me run out and take some pix of them.
tick tock tick tick... man this take time

As you can see part of the foam is missing. I just bought the car for about 1500$ not to bad i don't tink has 171k on the car... not sure if it has been rebuilt though. Was told it had to be by this time because the Apex Seals would be gone.
Well my question lyes there. how would i go aobut fixing the doors interior being that there seems to be little hope on the "for sale" sites.

Then if it hasn't been rebuilt i will have the apex seals blown in no time flat. I will just have to take it easy, but ATL traffic is a bitch.
but about the doors. the second link i have looked at. thing is the foam is messed up. I guess i could remove all the foam and just not have it or replace it with new foam? Thx for the input. and do let me know if you find anything else i will be looking also and will let yall know how it turns out. also need to find the pic section so that i can post the pixs of the car there also. going to need alot of work i think.

my car looked like that, I went to a fabric warehouse and got some fake maroon leather, and just took off the door panels, disasembled the panel, took out old material, and then put new material over destroyed foam, secured down, reasembled and it looks great. I'll post pics soon.
Depending on how the car's previous owner treated it, the apex seals could be just fine.
We have owners who have gone 300,000+ original miles without a rebuild. We have owners who can't seem to get 5 blocks without something going wrong. The car I've had for 11 years was overheated badly once. Lasted another 80,000 miles before finally (and destructively) tossing out her apex seals.

I have a thread about how to reupholster your doors. It's in the archives.
here's the link:

I'll be finishing that thread this week, the panels are just about finished.

What part of town are you in?
You can get new foam to put in and then do the doors. Or just buy some good used panels. The Two Pull a parts always have 7's in them. The one at the airport has more most times.
