Sorry kinda hard to see but is that the chunk of rotor missing like the top of the apex seal slot (/groove?)?

Looks like a pretty beat up engine haha.

I don't know how bad the housings are yet. I need to clean them up still. Keep in mind I daily drove the FB with the front rotor blown from April until June of last year LOL. It has 145K I think. I'll have to double check. As far as I know the 83 Rotors are in fact different from S3 rotors. The 83 rotors are the lightest 12A rotors

False on rotor weights according to MazdaTrix:

http://mazdatrix.com/faq/rotorwgt.htm

Though I do have some 85 rotors. I need a good scale and I can weigh them for you and compare.

Yeah I'll have to weigh mine and see what they come to. I could've sworn I read that 83 had the lightest but it may have just started in 83 like the bigger axles and beehive and just continued with the S3's

It will be ported in some fashion. Either street ported or maybe even '74 spec, but I gotta talk to Jeff about that LOL. Then I'll rebuild it and put it back in my FB
