FC speedo Cable into FB???

I searched found nothing. My speedo cable snapped, no one, not even Mazda apparently carries FB speedo cables up here anymore. Not even mazdatrix or victoria british. The FC N/A ones look identical from pictures, but they are 8" longer. I want a new one, they're cheap, so im not going scrumaging in a junk yard. Anyone ever swapped one, did it fit???

I know it will plug in your transmission's speed sensor..........It should work
I doent really matter if its too long ....Just make sure not to bend it to much

For future reference if anyone has this availability problem and searches the forum. I ordered S4 N/A FC speedo cable, it fits and works perfectly on the FB.

Was the S4 5spd or Auto?

The rear end is lower geared in the Auto S4's so that might throw your speedo out.

5spd, it reads 100km/h at 3100rpm just like before, so it seems to be a perfect match.

The cable wouldnt make a difference for speedomemter error, that has to do with the gearing in the transmission for the speedo AFAIK. The cable spins 1:1 one one end to the other, so its gonna turn the speedo however much the transmission makes it turn, if that makes sense.

I looked about 6 months ago for someone that wanted a NEW one and Mazda does NOT make them any more for the 79-85 RX7's...

If the inside of the cable is not too bad you can head down to your local auto parts store and just get the insert.
