FC Front Mount Oil Cooler in FB

There have been a lot of questions about installing a front mount oil cooler in an FB. Here's how I'm doing it. Any comments/suggestions would be welcome.

More pictures. In 2 of these you can see the "clamp" I made to keep the passenger's side of the oil cooler from sagging too much. It looked as though it wouldn't take long for the rubber mount to give way. You can see the flex I'm talking about in the 3rd picture in the first post.

Looks good to me. Make sure you use the correct fitting on the top of the cooler. You can see the type I used on mine. It will promote better oil flow than a 90*.

You choose the same placement I did, in hindsight I would make a different placement lower to cover the gap between the radiator and the bottom pan( I got a 8 inch gap between the radiator and the bottom stock pan). . When I change mine I'll post pictures. For now it works fine, I made an airbox that forces all the air through the air dam, which in turn hits the cooler, rad and the engine without going under the car. I have plans to make a solid sheet difuser to cover the complete under side to the crossmember to keep airflow smooth. Someday maybe even a rear difuser. ( I got a 8 inch gap between the radiator and the bottom pan). This is my install.

Question, are you reusing the banjo fittings or going with Russell or Aeroquip fittings?

I'm planning on using Aeroquip fittings. I haven't bought them yet, but can get them from Summit or **** Racing Products.

It's the same size, just that the connections are different which is the cause for the most headaches on placement on a FB.

10-4, just trying to figure out why someone would put the second gen cooler over a first gen fmoc. I guess because they are easier to find.

I'm using this one because 1) it was easy to find and relatively cheap, and 2) I'm putting a 13B in so this is the oil cooler that was meant for it.

I have a FC oil cooler on mine as well. I went to more drastic then most would. I changed the fittings and placement on mine with some creative aluminum wielding to make it fit better in the FB I have. In retrospect, I would have looked around longer for a SE oil cooler because it costed almost as much as a used SE oil cooler would have, but I got the FC cooler free-so I didn't mind spending a little to make it fit and work good.
