fb water pump housing?

Where can i get one? i went to change my water pump today and realised the leak wasnt coming from the weep hole.. so i think i need to replace the housing.. or should i jsut replace the gasket? it only leaks when the car is warm and has been run a while... it starts under the housing and runs down following the seam where the front cover meets the housing.. or could this be the front cover leaking? its for an '82 i checked mazdatrix and they didnt have one that i saw

Unless the housing has rusted through don't bother replacing it. I don't think you can buy a new one anywhere. There is a gasket between the engine block and the water pump housing, have you replaced this? It could be the source of your leak

Agreed, replace the gasket. Something to keep in mind about that. There are 4 studs, 2 of them have a shim washer (the 2 that arent in the gasket area) that keep the housing parallel when you tighten the nuts. If they are missing the housing will be cocked and wont seal. In a pinch you could make shims out of gasket material. If you really do need a housing you can certainly get one from a fellow member. I know I have some on a shelf.

the proper way of replacing water pump is to remove the entire housing, then install the new water pump along with silicone. if you're missing those 2 shims, you can use aluminum foil.

The 2 shim washers are 0.020" thick.
