There are a butt load of rotor heads in FL, even moreso in the Pensacola area. Bite the bullet and ask in your regional forum. A used carb is worth around 25 bucks, start PMing guys local to you. Sterling and RX7Carl are our Nikki modder's, one of them may have the parts you need. If nothing else, pull the carb off, take pics of it and make a list of of the part #s you need using the carb manual's designations. Hell, I even have spare carb parts laying around and may have what you need. Just make sure your list is correct.

The rotary community is suprisingly tight and very willing to help one another. I often help just to see someone else's 7.

Umm... if this guy was telling the truth about when the power loss occured, then it shouldn't have anything to do with the secondaries as far as I can tell. I hope the previous owner was lying, because the secondaries are not being used when the car is idling(sitting at a stop light). I would definitely do a compression test if you trust this guy at all because it sounds to me like an apex seal on one of the two rotors quit. I hope I'm wrong which is quite common!
Good luck.

Wink

Well I was able to to change out he Fuel Filter last week and change out 2 spark plugs that a local 1st gen owner I met suggested changing and nothing changed as far as the acceleration goes. So I'm gonna keep trouble shooting it and doing things little by little to narrow down the problem. The guy I met also gave me an old carb he had lying around, so I should have the parts that I need now for the secondaries to work. Thanks for the help, I'll report back when I get more things changed out on it, we'll see what happens.

Might also be the leading spark igniter. They seem to be dropping like flies lately.

You just took the words right out of my mouth bliffle. I was also going to inquire about the fuel filter, but I see he's got that covered...

Also, instead of seeking the parts for your carb, you might consider modifying the carb for "mechanical secondaries". You can find instructions in the FAQ section, and it is pretty simple to do. It involves using a thin piece of wire to connect the linkages, and works great...

OK so yesterday we made our first attempt at putting on the secondary linkage. We got the bar on and in place and then we tried putting on the cover that, I can only assume, keeps everything in place. However when it came to putting on the cover, the bolt that everything is on, is turned in such a away that we can not get the shield piece on. So if there are any thoughts as to how to get that piece to turn into the correct position, please let me know. Thanks!

have you done your compression check yet? I agree with others in the statement that if the car lost power sitting at a stop light and started to run rough, it could be an apex seal.

Side through: Does the car idle well or no? Check the hose running from the intake manifold to anti-afterburn valve #2. I purchased my 7, in amazing condition, for $800 because the guy thought the motor was blown. It ended up being this hose, replaced it for like $3.50, and it runs like a champ. Check out the attached picture.

I'd also check spark on your leading plugs and make sure that you're getting spark.

FWIW, if you're not too familar with carbs, the function of the secondaries is so you can have good fuel metering from small primaries in the lower rpm's, but when you cross a certain load and rpm threshold, the secondaries open to provide the fuel that's needed.

illl check that out now. We're doing the compression test next week i think, when we have more time. Also could you take another pic for me of your carb at a different angle so i can see the other side of the secondary linkage. Thanks man!
