FB Fuel Pump Questions.

I'm looking into going half-bridge on my FB. It's just my fun car that I can try new things on, and I was looking into doing some port work when I rebuild. What is the flow of a stock FB fuel pump? Also, could I use a pump from an FC to help out with fuel? I'm new to the 12A and I've searched around and haven't found much information. What are the basic requirements for a 12A with porting? It's just a whole different thing to the fuel injected 13B I'm used to. Any insight is helpful. Thanks guys.

u can probably get by with using an FI fuel pump as long as u still have a return. u'll still need to run a regulator so get one that has provision for return line.

for the most part, the stock FB fuel pump is already at its limits for even a stock port motor w/ a weber style or holley carb. Ideally, you should (if carb'd) upgrade to a good holley or carter high flow, low pressure fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. If you choose to go F.I., itll be easiest to just go ahead and upgrade the entire fuel system as a whole. Either mod a 12A carb'd tank for accept a 5/16" return (or larger) and an inline walbro 255/bosch 044 pump, or find a GSL-SE tank, which is already set up for F.I. and use the smae pump setup

Ok, this is helping me get in the right direction. So, for a HB, the simplest route to go would be a high-flow Carter fuel pump, and upgraded cooling system I'd assume. Is it a necessity to upgrade the carb? I'm not trying to cheap out, I'm just looking to spice up the 12A. It's not going to be an all out HP machine, just a nice upgrade over stock. Thanks!

You 'll need to do something with the carb to provide more fuel in the mix for the
BP. So either go webers, holley or modified nikki. A stock nikki won't serve the
BP very well.

the cooling system can stay stock as long as everything is in good condition. the oil cooler should be changed to a front mount unit, like the FC, if it isn't.

there is an old school combo that is a bridge on a modified stock carb, the IMSA RS cars ran this in the 70's. if you're going to do this, keep the bridge small, the carb IS the limiting factor.

the factory bridgeport template is in here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Byot...ZLLU5qdXM/edit

Id go with that carter pump or a holley grey pump, fuel pressure regulator with gauge, weber 48 ida, intake manifold, k&nfilter kit, two msd 6a ignition boxes(which i have if you want), blaster coils, racingbeat ignition wires, fc oil cooler(MAKE SURE YOUR YOU FASTEN THE HELL OUT OF THE COOLER IVE SEEN THREE PEOPLE LOSE THEM ON THE HIGHWAY AND KILL THERE ENGINE), racingbeat headers, straight pipe, free flow muffler no chambers, and of course plenty of oil.

there lil mods to do if youd like to know
