Question fan problems...help please

well to start things off. i have a problem with my heater/AC controls. it only blows through the vents, no defrost or floor. always blow throught the vents. the lights change when the buttons are pushed for defrost or bi-level or floor.

not a biggie, i did some research about this and have found that the logicon is probably the problem, just dont know if it is related to this problem too.

the fan part located under the passenger side dash was making noise whenever i got up to speeds above 40mph. sounds like the fan is spinning with the air coming into the car, but mad an annoying noise like the fan was damaged or something. so i pulled the 3 screws out that hold the fan in place. i noticed that there is a good amount of air that blow through now.

what controls the fresh air/ recir air coming into the car?
is this where my problem is? guess this could be related to the other problems i am having. maybe just a flapper door or something that is getthing stuck.

after you remove the silver dash panel/radio surround, the logicon is held on by a couple of screws and a connector in the rear.
