MD FAJS CARB First start

1985 RX7 12A GSL
After waiting a month for new throttle linkage for the FAJS (Chinese's Weber), I have the FAJS 48DCOE first start and idle. In the mean time I've learn a lot from members on this site and without you there would not be a first start. Thank you! .The FAJS carb is idling fine after a hard start. However, it choke out when given gas to accelerate. I made adjustments on the idle mixture screw and it's idling great. What should I look at next to resolve giving it gas issue?

You should study all the "DCOE on a 12A" threads you can find on this forum. The Webers and clones are never jetted right for our motors and there are lots of threads around here for tuning them properly. I have a 48IDA that im getting ready and just about every jet/E-tube/air bleed/choke is wrong for our motors. But there are lots of peeps that already went through it so I pour over their threads and find what worked. You should be able to find similar info for your side draft carb.

Thank you Maxwedge! I will give it a try. I brought this FAJS off of AMAZON and they hood wink me into thinking I was getting a WEBER.. It was sold as a conversion kit for 12A from NIKKI. The conversion kit does not provide throttle linkage. Any recommendations are welcome.

Look up Weber throttle linkage. Lots of different styles, because Webers were stock on so many Euro cars. I bought a couple different styles off Epay. Again, look at what others used in their DCOE threads and buy something like that. If you're putting an aftermarket carb on you need to try different bits-n-pieces to get it to work. Same thing with a Holley or Edelbrock. Sorry no personal experience with the DCOE.
