The ideal size is 2 1/8 inch for a 12a, but that is difficult to obtain so 2 1/4 is a good compromise. Its best to get it made up in stainless due to the high temperatures with a rotary exhast.

I have 1/8" thick (3mm) wall main pipes at around 2 3/8 od - I am getting a lot of pipe noise, as in metallic ringing, so I really think its too big. they messed the numbers around, I was really after 2 1/4 od, 1/8wall (thus 2" id). This *should* have been fine on my 13b bp. Mine isn't stainless, but a shiite load of single mandrel welded together.
AS for muffler... baseline is dont get anything smaller than your pipe!

I use 2 1/4, works great with a low restrictive muffler and header. But there is no point of increasing your pipe size if you dont have a header and you have a cat.

I think I paid 25 bucks for my pipe, and like 50 bucks for labor.

Try to find an import shop to do this, no normal exhaust shop will touch your car if you dont have a cat.

Good Luck!

I'd never use Rx-7 heaven/hell except for getting used parts. Overpriced and questionable ability of their "mechanic". Just my opinion, but this opinion is shared by many here.

Tony the owner, is the original owner of my car. He seems like a very nice guy and easy to work with. His mechanic is pretty coll also, ive talked to him a few times. He seems to know his stuff.

Unless he is just working with me becasue it used to be his car?
