Well here is what I did....
RB streetport header, to dual 2" pipes, down to a single 3" pipe and caped it off with the RB powerpulse muffler....
I love it!!! the sound is VERY tolerable (even my girlfriend thinks so, that should say alot).
As far as power...... well much smoother up to about 4500RPM's and the torgue is alot more linear all the way up.... But at 5grand, watch out, cause this motor comes alive!!!
I think all together, including the custom exhaust it ran me around $550....

Straight pipe is insanely loud, especially with a straight through muffler design like an N1. I'm not sure if you'll be able to get away with it. It loud and high pitched. Think chainsaw, then add crack, steroids and other ammendments until you have the crasiest noise you can think of. It's great for racing, I love the sound, but for everyday driving it'll probably get on your nerves. And more importantly the local police. I don't know if a straight pipe 13B's would be as bad as my 12A, but it's still gonna be loud. If you really want some fun unbolt the exhaust after the hearder, I've never had so many people stare at my car in such a short period, ever.

Crap, didn't see the RB presilencer, I'm running 2 (not RB) and the noise is tolerable for the police but still screams when I sink my foot into it. Good Luck.

i have the rb header to collector (which is right about under my passenger seat), from there straight 2.25" piping, to a high flow muffler. THE MUFFLER IS NOW SHOT! don't get a apexi n1, probably won't last from the heat. go with RB, MINDTRAIN, MAGNAFLOW/ ULTRAFLOW, something very good quality. my car is REDICULOUSLY LOUD. like nanaimo said, chainsaw times 50!!!!!

i have the RB header, to presilencer, to 2.5" pipe, back to a straigh through magnaflow muffler. It is LOUD. I haven't been busted by the cops yet, but i have only had it for about a week. It has much more power, but is pretty loud. But that's what stereo's are for, right?

i would suggest to rather not go with the straight pipe.
I`am running 2.5 " at the moment, with all straight through silencers. Its definately too loud for street use,it did attract alot of coppers(maybe its the lumpy loud idle ?) Small in front (resonator) medium, and large at rear)..

thanks guys. maybe i won't do an apexi n1 muffler then. i will probably go with a high flow that looks pretty close to the stock muffler. i want to keep my car on the down low as much as possible so those ricers won't know what hit them.

Please, listen to them. I made a mistake with my last 7. I ran 2 1/2'' streight pipes from the header into an exhaust tip.

It was so intolerable, especially for the neighbors at 6:30 in the morning with your choke sitting at 2500. I got talked to by so many cops. One said If it wasnt fixed in a week, hed make me pay over 300 dollars. The decibals were off the scale.

Before I gernaded my 13b I installed a 2.25 inch system with a 3 inch glasspack under the car, and then a 40 series flowmaster at the end. It rumbled, with out the slightest kackle, but i got bored one sunday night, and I cut it all off, and bent me up some 2.5 with a 2.5 inch 40 series, and the same 3 inch glasspack. it amazed me how much low end tourqe i lost. it was so noticable, and so bad I turned right around and got it back on the lift, to replace the system. It was late, so i decided to replace the 3 inch glasspack with a 2 inch glass pack. It was night and day again! it ran good, but I dont think I would go over 2.25 inches unless the internals, and induction were heavily modified!

ok, i'm gonna throw a question out here now.. as in my sig i have rb header, straight thru 2.25" piping to a Tsudo muffler. the tsudo couldn't take it. it was nice sounding for about 2 weeks then it just blew. now it's just F'ing loud. the whole airplane chainsaw deal. i have a magnaflow being shipped to me, but when i get it i'm thinking of going down to 2" piping. my car has almost no low end torque. on the dyno it didnt even kick in till practically the hp did. after 3500 rpms it's beautiful though. i would love to gain some low end back. you guys think going down to 2" piping will help any? or what can i do? thanks in advance guys!
