Exaust Port / Flow Idea (more power without dissasembaly?)
I was wondering if any one knows about the plug that goes into the exaust port on the rotor housing. From looking at it it has a large step at the top and holes at the bottom. This looks VERY restrictive. I just put a full exaust on my car and was wondering if i can take those plugs out for more flow.
Do I have to dissasemble the motor or can they be removed from the outside with the header off? I have another 12a with a bad apex seal and I was trying to get them out of that motor first to see how hard it would be and they won't budge, do they thread in or push in? I am more curious as to what would happen if it was done, as to wether it CAN be done is another story.
In essence if it flushes to the inside of the housing then removing it would bring more high RPM power and a lil more slugishness down low.

You wouldn't see any gains by removing the exhaust sleeve in a stock port motor. In fact you wouldn't see any gains unless you're running a huge ported motor because the flow is restricted by the port shape and size, not that sleeve.

however, as nimrodTT pointed out, there is little (if anything) to be gained by removing them. you will be allowing more heat to radiate through the rotor housing than is desireable ... and that would spell LOSS, sooner or later.

They are roll-pinned, but I can think of at least a few ways to remove them with the engine together. But just to warn you, the will port velocity will be decreased and I would be surprised if you didn't lose power by removing them.
