I've never seen clear dizzy cap. Not sure if your pulling legs or not, how does one 'See' the power an engine is making by looking at the dizzy? Power can be measured, it's results can be seen, dyno sheets, et's. rubber left from burnouts, but seeing power is like seeing the wind. You can't really see it, only the results from it.

Seem to remember that Mazdatrix used to fabricate a clear dizzy for the 20B.

I've seen clear dizzy caps for V8 engines. It is so you can see if the car is getting spark but is more just for looks.

Just curious where do you buy your rotors? what brand? I've had two rotors go out like this recently... It usually looks like it melts first.

Was this a Mazda Rotor or did you get it elsewhere?

to be honest i really dont know what brand the rotor is. it happened to be on the distributor that was installed in the engine that i swaped into the car. i inspected the cap and rotor for wear prior to driving the car daily and after a nice cleaning both were in tip top shape. i did however save that rotor, lol.

I have ground a couple terminals of the cap down when I put the cap on wrong (easy to do if you forget to put the protector plate on before the rotor) but never actually exploded one like that. Neat!

No, it's still taped to the bumper which is still in the back of the car, actually.

I've done some extensive modification of that upper plenum, though Porting sucks. So far most of the "porting" was done with a Sawzall and Vise-Grips. The aluminum shatters like glass...

And I used to have one on my '69 VW. They're kinda cool to look at.
