Engine Swap: V8
I'm looking at buying a high miles '84 RX7. I have a rebuilt Chevy 350 putting out b/t 250-300hp and was thinking about replacing the 13B. Can anyone who has done this give me a few tips? What parts would need to be replaced, clearance issues? etc.

Yeah...I don't know what's up with these internet communities, but there's a whole lot of hate for V8 (or any piston motor) swaps here, and at torquecentral, there's quite a bit of hate for rotary advocates. I think it's ridiculously petty and unnecessary.
Back on topic, I steered clear of the 350 swap because I believe there are some pretty major clearance issues with the air cleaner and the hood as well as with the distributor and the firewall. It's definitely been done though, often with cowl hoods or TII-style scoops and maybe some cutting and welding. The 350 kit from granny's speed shop is also exorbitantly expensive (everything from there is).

The Rx-7 is ment to have a rotary, and thats that.
I dont care how fast it makes the car, it is no longer an rx-7
Thats like giving Sylvester Stalone a vagina!!!!

Not everyone here shares the V-8 possibilities, however I studied on this for about 2 years. No, I haven't done it and backed out of it because of funds, but, there are no clearence issues with a 350. So long as you don't go with a high rise intake. Also if you stay with something around a 283 you do NOT have to use mount supports as with the 350. Also with a 283, as with the 350 an adapter plate is available to keep the 7 tranny, and drive train.
