Engine Bay Dimensions

Does anyone know the dimensions of the first gen engine bay in MM?

Im thinking about doing an engine swap into any first gen, if you an give me inches that's fine I'll do a conversion and see if what im thinking about doing will fit.

Havent really thought of that. Just take a crack at it, it doesnt have to be exact im just trying to get an idea of what I can do.

hes asking what area. were the motor crossmember sits, strut tower to strut tower.. theres a lot of measurable pts in a bay

If you look in the FB FSM in the section titled "Body," it gives projected and straight-line dimensions of the key measurement points under the hood. From there, it should be pretty simple to extrapolate your engine space dims.

Yeah really, I have a cummins turbo diesel in mine and it fit no problem. Had to do a little cutting and welding but it fit. I'm sure what ever you want to put in there will fit. Also, I had to cut out most of the fire wall and make a hood scoop so the hood could close. I tried to call grannies for a kit and they just laughed and hung up on me. I actually have a stock dully axle in the rear, using the stock rx7 watts link and control arm mounting points. Finding 8 bolt wheels that are 13" is a major pain. If you're still reading this and haven't figured out by now that I made all this up, I'm sorry.
