Looks good mate! I'll be doing exactly the same thing on my emblems. I'm going to try a few different colours though to see what I can come up with in photoshop.

Looks good! I really like that you didnt need to take them off to do. That'll save alot of those stupid little pins

I can't figure it out. How'd you do that exactly? Man, the guy posts up pictures but doesn't tell us how he did it. How rude!

silly rabbit...

he painted the whole emblem black, then used a sponge to touch up the embossed lettering. he simply brushed or dabbed over the top of all of the lettering to paint them silver, but not too hard to avoid painting the black background.

correct me if im wrong of course, but it's a fairly simple process

Whoops.

1. Use gas, a Q tip, a pin and a cotton swab to clean up the emblem and the surrounding paint.

2. Spray the silver paint on a flat surface (I used some packing material).

3. Dab it on (thus, the "touch up") until you get a pretty silver (or whatever color you want) emblem.

4. Be careful.

looks great!!! i painted mine with a small vrush. i'm not a huge fan of the results. Ray, yours look much better!

3mm double sticky tape works well. Cut the remainders of the studs flush with the back of the emblem, sand the back surface smooth and attach the 3mm sticky tape to the back (this is the thick stuff, about 1mm thick with powerful adhesive on both sides - you can get it at parts stores but it costs about half as much at WalMart and other discount stores).

Now, before pealing off the other side of the tape, use a razor blade or exacto knife to cut in around the emblem. Finally, peel off the back side and CAREFULLY position the emblem, once it is stuck it will be hard to remove.

i get mine from napa. its a 3M product and its a double sided tape made for automotive trim. it comes in a roll (three differnt lengths are available) and is a little pricey but it does an excellent job. i mainly use i'm replacing or repairing the side mouldings on an RX-7. the tape has a red side to it that peels off to expose the other sticky side.

That's what I bought to put my trim and emblems back on...gotta finish the paint job first...LOL Glad to know I got the right stuff..
