Eliminating exterior lock?
Eliminating exterior lock?
To make a long story short, someone was nice enough to pop the lock out of the passenger door to break into my 7. They were even nice enough to use a screwdriver & bend the $h!t out of the area around the lock.
I was thinking about taking the lock out entirely, straightening out the gouges & just sealing the lock hole up.
Think it's a bad idea? I never unlock the car from the passenger side, anyway.

And if you don't have a screwdriver, any other key should work just fine as long as it doesn't bend too easily, lol
Yeah, you can seal that up. I never use it either.

The idiot before this one broke out the driver's rear quarter window. Such a bitch to replace. And what did they steal? A stereo, with no faceplate.
I hate thieves.
And I know taking the lock out won't keep them from breaking in if they really want to, but I'm sick of fixing it & it looks like **** where they tore it up.
There is a body tool that restores the shape of lock holes. I don't know if Eastwoods carries it or not. Otherwise, you will need to weld a patch in, body putty won't last.

That won't be a problem. I've welded once or twice
