Elford turbo head scratcher.

This is the aforementioned Elford, with the rogue brown wire, that has no obvious conecting point. I have no info as to what the twin valves do. All I can guess is. the brown shoud be live, as the other terminal on the unit connects to earth. Heres hoping guys.
Hi guys. I'm hoping there's some, Elford wizards, out there, who can throw me a bone on a wiring issue. I'm the proud owner of an, 85 first gen. I pulled bugger apart, about 15 years ago, to do a complete resto. I was in possession of an 83 Elford turbo, that was a complete basket case, but had a very good , 68,000 mile engine. It was a total, no brainer, to swap this in. So I whipped out the Elford. Tagging thr wires, (as you do). and stored it in the shed. With a combination of, work, no garage and life generally getting in the way. By the time I got round to fitting the Elford, (14 years). Every word on the wiring tags had faded. Obviously, most of the conections are self explanatory. But because its an Elford, there's no home for the connection to the, over boost, buzzer. That black box in the footwear. There's also a rogue, brown wire, that comes from a pair of some kind of actuators, situated on top of the engine, adjacent to the Bell housing. I'll pop a pick on in the hope one of you guys could put me out of my misery. It would be bloody marvellous, if there were an Elford owner, Not to far away. That would allow me to come and have a look under their bonnet. Thanks in advance for any help you can give guys. All the best. Colin.

Looks like a hobbs switch (pressure) of some sort. I'm going to assume perhaps some sort of timing retard? I'm not familiar with the kit but did it have any electronics?

Hi 1bad. Thanks for getting back. I can't remember there being anything electronic in the engine bay. Just the black box, which is basically an, overboost buzzer. In the footwell.
You're right about the presure thing. The black wire side, connects to another pressure switch which is connected to the distributor vacuum units. The brown wire side has a tube that goes to the turbo.

May have found some more info on the UK forum, just waiting for my registration to be approved. Seems like there is a manual floating around, no luck tracking it down? Will pass it along if I come up with anything. Good luck with the car, that's a super cool setup!
