Flex-lite Black Magic 150, 160, and others
15" (covers the rad and oil cooler)
pulls 2800 cfm unloaded
"Can you you still maintain the same temp" ??? It will do the job, but you know that your mean and average temps would vary in a side-to-side comparison since you will have changed a major part of the cooling system. Just as it would if you got a less or more efficient radiator. It'll be fine.

Jose, any idea how deep that thing is? I have a black magic m150 that I ran on my car for years but now that I'm swapping to a 13bt is doesn't quite fit, I need something shallower and thats not a bad price....
As for the original posters question, electric fans work fine, the m150 is a good fan, fits nice and flows a lot of air.

1 to 1-5 HP Gain over well working Stock Fan Clutch Setup.
Versus 23-55 or more AMP Draw.
Get ready for a Alternator Upgarde?
This a 50-50 Vote if the Trade Off is worth it.
If your Stock Fan Clutch is Toast= Than yes the upgrade is worth it.
If not than I think the trade off ie AMPS versus 1-1.2HP gain is something to think about.
I'm sure I started something here I should not have.

Best upgrade out there for our Shittie 50-60Amp Stock Alts then go for the 2nd Gen Fuse Box Upgrade.
Now you will have the Extra Outlet for the Electric Fan Upgrade if you go that route. And some other Goodies.

I've been considering it. Once I get past getting the car solidly running as is stock with the motor swap coming up and all of the other standard maintenance needing to be done.
In my "write-up" thread I highlight all of the work to be done in the next 3 weeks. I was thinking of putting an e-fan in now during all of that but at this point that extra $120 for the whole fan setup and then wanting to simultaneously upgrade the alternator, fuse box, and coils at the same time would cost a fortune.

Don't do it, its a pointless mod. The stock clutch fan and shroud are more than good enough to cool the engine, and the power difference is negligable.
I had 2 x 12" craig davies thermo fans on and they just couldnt keep the car cool on the track, swapped to a standard setup and haven't had any issues, car is just as quick as it was before and now I don't have to worry about a kill switch or killing my battery or alternator.

I have a used V6 ford taurus fan which covers the stock RX7 radiator very well (almost perfect size). It is a 2 speed fan, and flows over 4,000 CFM. These sell on ebay for over $60 used, and are considered one of the best elec fans. You can get wiring kits on ebay as well. I am looking to sell the fan actually, as I no longer have the rotary engine in my car, so PM me if interested.
