EGT questions

i see in summit a few 2 1/16" egt kits for 115 that should fit in the stock clock location. what i want to know is where on the exhaust do i put the probe? and also with the high exhaust heat of wankels, would 1600f be enough?

Probably not.... lots of people I talk to running 5.0s see 1450-1550 on their gauges Imagine how much more range you'd need for a rotary!

I think the ideal exhaust tepmerature for and rx-7 with the correct air/fuel mixtere is 1650 degrees. Correct me if I'm wrong. Too bad guages with that kind of temperature range are so expensive.

Turbo rotaries run around 1600-1700, depending on where the probe is located.

Ok, cause i e-mailed Rob at Pinneaple Racing and he told me to get an EGT gauge and aim for 1650 degrees. And i told him i had an N/A 12A.

Well I checked at www.egauges.com I found one that goes up to 1800 degrees. Its only $88 without the thermocouple and lead wire.

the thermocouple is $43 and the lead wire is $15. sounds like a fair price to me. This is for ISSPRO brand anyone heard of or used them before?

so far the mazdatrix gauge is the best bet. nice quality aircraft gauge and a probe they say they havent been able to burn off like some other ones theyve tried. ive still got some time before i actually go out and get one though. i'll keep everyone posted on what else i can find
