Easy questions on an SE

Is the fuel pump in the tank or just back at the axle?

is there a pump relay line the none SE cars in the same year?

If so does the Trailing control pump on and off?

Thanks

Yes the pump is near the rear axle just like the non se cars.

there is a relay for the pump I dont know if it is in the same place or not though

I have a 85 gsl now and the fuel pump is controlled by the trailing ignition like the SE in the early cars you could hear the pump run when the switch was in the on position.

im no expert here, but I know the 84 SE pump wont run with the switch in the on position, the flapper in the airbox has to be open (ie, you crank the motor over, motor sucks air, opens flapper), I would assume 85 should be the same way.

I have found with my car if it sits for a few weeks, the system looses its prime and it takes a few seconds to reprime. the alternative is to turn the ign on, push the flapper open with your hand for a few seconds, and then it will fire right up.

Relay is called circuit opening relay, under passenger side floor on the bracket with the ECU. AF meter door controls on/off.

I riped apart half my dash looking for one because I thought the GSL-SE's had one but couldn't find one, so I'd say no.

Now I remember, read posts 108 and 112. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...+things&page=5

I ment that the SE's dont have the fuel cut relay under the dash like the 12a's as well as the circuit opening relay.
