Earth Calling "GSLSEforme" - do you copy?
In all of his pm's and text messages to me, he signs off with Mike. I believe his name is Mike. I did send him another text message this morning and will let everyone know if he replies.
Thanks for updating us. It's such a loss. He was a good guy, willing to share whatever was required to help us here. Such a wealth of knowledge, refreshingly direct in telling us exactly what to do!
Thanks for sharing - so sorry to hear. He had explained that he had a renal issue that was hereditary and I believe was on dialysis. He would even take calls while at the hospital but never made a big deal of it. So I became very concerned when he went silent and was no longer responding. The real odd thing - I looked for an obituary and never found anything. May you rest in peace Mike.

That's heartbreaking news. The community is at a loss knowing that Mike has passed. His knowledge and presence will be greatly missed. Thank you for following up and letting us know of his passing.
Thank you all for your research into Mike's passing. When I created this thread, it was in hopes that his move had forced him away from the computer, and helping the community here, which he really enjoyed. Mike and I conversed about a lot of SE things here, and I know he will be greatly missed as a sharer of tremendous knowledge of all things Mazda.
I hope that we can occasionally revive some of his older threads over the past 20 years and recall what an asset he's been to the rotary community.

You guys let me know if any of his threads need to be archived into a sticky. I can't do them all unfortunately. Or we can complie a thread of his responses that have helped the most and I'll stick that in this section. Whatever you guys think is best. Give it some thought and let me know. I'm willing to make sure he is not forgotten and his knowledge is not pushed off into never never land never to be seen again.
Just a few more items about Mike.
Of the 2335 posts he made between 7/28/2014 and 7/30/2020, as best I can determine, only 25 were for his subject matter. The rest were for helping someone else. Proof positive that he was sincere in his stated purpose " Keeping as many of these funny little cars running". He certainly was a big help to me.
His 5 letter went to a New Zealand collector. No mention of what happened to his Power Wagon
He had a heart attack, triple bypass surgery. Spent 25 days in ICU on life support before acute kidney failure resulting in total body sepsis (her description). At this point he was taken off life support.
He was cremated and his ashes taken to Assateague island. He did not want an obituary.
I have his companion's phone number if anyone wants to make further contact.

We never met, but Mike was the kind of person to make you as comfortable working with him as if he had been a lifelong friend.
He will be missed by many for a long time.
