I wouldnt know cause i cant drive the thing Still trying to get a title for it, and when I have driven it breifly to check it out, it doesnt run right, Im almostp ossitive its cause it doesnt have a fuel pressure regulator, and its running an aftermarket pump. Reason I think this is because even with the adjuster screws for the main jets are turned all the way in so that the car almost dies, its still so rich it burns your eyes. So im thinking its just pushing WAY too much fuel

Yep, that is your problem, you need a FPR.

Trust me a title is a bitch. I hate state paperwork!!!

You think you have it bad. I always have bad luck with everything. I have only had one title that went well and that was one a jetski for parts! lol

Hell I cant get the title for my FB, and we have owned the thing since it was bought new in 1983, when my dad drove it off the lot, Now thats F'd up!

well no one has posted any numbers yet, so Ill ask for an estimate number...

83' GS
RB Full Exhaust
Mikuni 44mm Carb
Rebuilt agressive street ported 12a
All new ignition parts (dist. all wires, msd blaster coils)
Removed clutch fan (replaced with electric fans)
Lightweight flywheel
Upgraded clutch
4.1 gears (maybe 4.4 if i for some reason cant get 4.1)

What kind of power do you think a setup like that would put down? (yes some of those mods have nothing to do with power... but anyway

Well, here is the sad truth.......
I have an 85 GSL-SE with a streetported 13B running Mikuni 44mm sidedrafts and at a recent event at Moroso Motorsports Park I had the car put on the mobile dyno and what I got was dissapointing. The only thing that makes me doubt the dyno was that they did NOT hook up the ignition pick up onto any of the plug wires. But anyways here are the results....
156 rwhp
136 tq

so pretty much anything over 200whp on a 12a n/a is... not impossible, but not worth the trouble? i was planning on doing a 13b swap soon down the road but wanted to go ahead and rebuild and give the 12a a little more kick for the next 6 months itll be in there... hmm, starting to wonder if itll be worth it though... might just wait for the t2 engine swap then, damn its a tough decission... what would a 175whp 1st gen run in the 1/4 mile (estimate) 13's? and yes i know, it depends on other supporting mods, and suspension and transmission, blah blah blah... give me a damn number people

heres another dyno # related question (since none of you have actually posted ANY DAMN DYNO NUMBERS!!! lol) what is the highest hp # you have seen on an n/a 12a? would it do any good to upgrade my mikuni 44 to a weber 48? and would building my own exhaust over the full rb i have now help any? since itll have an agressive streetport, dunno if the rb will flow enough...

Well JSC (something?) header and exhaust will net you the best power gains, period.

With them and a very nice carb and ignition on a street ported motor you can easily see 200+ rear wheel horsepower. Normally it would be flywheel, but that exhaust really pulls out the ponies you don't even know existed. (and that's all bullshit I've heard from reviews, I dunno, I went with rotary engineering for my exhaust)

That he has. I feel pretty good about it though. My car does that power with "only" 20psi, a streetport, and a little turbo. My powerband is very different from his. I make full boost by 3500rpm. That's why my car is verrry nice on the street.

My next engine will be similar to his though. Bridge, Big Turbo, and Lots more boost. But that will be with the widebody.

True. Not to take anything away from him, but..
1) I can't drive. Seriously, I've only had a total of like 5-6 passes ever.
2) I've never used slicks. Just little DR's only 225 wide.
3) My car weighs *alot* more than his. My car weighs 3100 lbs with me in it. It's a heavy ****. (and I am a heavy **** too).

I know that, Checking out the puerto rican drag videos, there has to be plenty of cars with plenty of more power than that. it's just that he is one of the highest and i wouldnt mind seeing another video...
