dual carb setup

Ok i am posting this because i was Thinking about going with a dual carb setup on my next motor and was wanting to know what I could buy the intake. Also how much it would go for and if i could find it used. Would like to see pics of setup and hear from people that r running it. Thanks for the help.

Most of the dual carb setups for rotaries I've seen used weber 36 DCD ( not sure about that model designation ). Also, a lot of em came from a, now defunct, rotary house called Rotary Engineering. I have an old catalog of theirs that probably talks about the setup. I used their exhaust setup for my 7, but I got the Dell setup from RB because I didn't want to fool with dual carbies at the time. Try a search on weber+36 and see what pops.

Oh, here it is:

It all depends, I know in the used parts they sometimes go for as cheap as 150 up to 450 depending on the quality and such. I can't think of anywhere that sells them new, although I don't search around that much.

Search around and find out.

Rotary Engineering never had a web page. They went out of business years ago before the web existed

I can scan some pics from the old catalogs and post them up if you want along with their descriptions. I'll dig around tonight and see if I can find the old catalogs. I'm pretty sure I kept them all.

I thought you bought a Mikuni? Set that up and tuning it will be easier than the DCD.

I'm pretty sure this is not the same company, they just are using the old name, probably without realizing it.

Heres the whois data. As you can see it was registered in 2002 out of Hernden Va. by Albert Metz. I'm pretty sure this isn't the company that used to be in CA.

The 36 DCD carbs themselves have not been available new for several years.

Only used ones out there.

48 IDA Weber

The 48 IDA Weber I have is really nice and I don't have a manifold for it. If you have a 12A just by the manifold and look for a carb or buy my nice shiny carb.

If your interested I can sell you the whole setup with linkage ready to bolt-on, but I'll charge you for my time I spend on the setup.

Thanks
Albert

Nick, there may be a little confusion here. The Mikuni, Webers and Dell are 2-barrel carbs, not dual. The old RE 36 DCD carb was a dual 2-barrel with 4 throats, one for each primary and sencondary port.

If they were, it was probably a full race engine, perhaps even a p-port. Even a single 48 mm needs to be choked down for a stock 12A.
