Dropped the Hood - Forgot There's no Latch Cable!
So happy I was to have gotten my 82 project car running, that I dropped down the hood, and immediately said, "(insert several explicatives here)!!!"
I never did reconnect the hood latch cable, and so now my hood is stuck latched.
What can I do?
(Ya know, I'm asking for advice here, so be sure to leave some after you get done pokin' at me!)

Jack the car up and see if you can get at the latch from underneath.
Other than that, try going and doing a search at Mazspeed. I remember this happened to someone there and I believe they managed to get it open without doing too much damage.

All great suggestions, guys!
However, I think I'll try the "Jack it up and use a screwdriver..." technique.
If that does'nt work, then I'll jump on the hood screaming.
If that does'nt work, I'll just drive it till the oil's gone, and throw it away like a used paper towel.

My friend once needed to raise the hood on a parts car 7 but the latch was broken. He took out the big old Thor hammer and punched several holes all around the latch and cut inbetween them. He raised the hood with a piece still attatched to the latch.
Definitely try the jack and screwdriver method first, hehe!

I had this happen to me once - the latch cable came undone.
What I did was jack the car up, reach up and pop the latch from underneath. You have to get it from the passenger (manifold) side, not very fun when the header is hot!

Yes, wait for car to cool down before deepfrying your arm.
Now, remind me to kill my fathers mechanic, hes one of those people that slam hoods, I've seen him do it to my car, and I'm sure he did it a bunch more times when it was in his shop. Don't be surprised if you see a house full of cow excrement and a red 1st gen fleeing from the scene.
