If it is the large flange type from 83 1/2 up, the answer is yes.

hah

i just had this problem with my car. the gls has different teeth in the spline althought there are the same number in it.the flange at the end that butts up with the dif. has a different bolt pattern on it. the distance between bolts is smaller. therefore they won't work. also depending if its an automatic or manual it can change lengths but everything else is the same. the3 automatic is 43 inches long and the manual is 45 1/2 inches long

You did get one thing right out of all of this.

The 84-85 A/T driveshafts are of a different lenght. Splines, I don't know but I believe they are the same.

All the other year driveshafts are the same lenght and have the same splines.

I did stated that the flanges are larger on the 83 1/2-85 models.
The following is the correct interchange.
79-82, A/T or M/T trans are the same lenght and same splines.
83 both A/T and M/T the same. Exception of 83 1/2 having the larger flange
84-85 M/T the same and 84-85 A/T the same.

Schools out guys.

So if the GSL driveshaft is out of a 83 1/2 -85 M/T then it will work. Or out of a 83 1/2 A/T and it will work.

They are a direct bolt up per the info I have posted. I do not remember the Se shafts being longer.

lol trust me. the slpines are the same but the teeth inside are different. i looked at them both right next to each other. you may be able to get away with interchangeing them still but they are slightly different.
