Door seals/weatherstripping?
I'm on the hunt for a good set of door seals. After doing a bit of research I've found some conflicting information. Some say Metro's are crap and others say they are better than OEM. I read that the 1A Automotive ones are good, but they appear to be the same as the metro ones? The black dragon's supposedly work ok, but are too stiff and the door shuts harder. Mazdatrix sells 'the best' (to some) but the price is very steep. Personal experience would be great. Here are the two/three that I'm considering:
1A: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Weatherstri...SD00167/249823
Autozone (metro): http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...03_79814_3032_
Mazdatrix: http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=59-7600-8871
Mazdatrix is basically twice as expensive, and I've had nothing but bad experiences with them.

I haven't used metro seals for the rx7's, but I've got them for my other vehicles and didn't have any problem with them. the price was good, and they did the job great for me, never cracked or ripped, either.
I got mine from black dragon. At first the doors would hardly shut. Over time, like 5 years, I can finally shut the door without slamming it. So my vote is to try something other then the ones from black dragon.
the ones from 1aauto don't fit down into the channel on the outside of the window frame like the oem does cause they're not molded right. i got a second set from black dragon. they're made right just haven't made time to install them. can't comment bout autozone.
i have only used factory mazda parts and i couldnt be happier with them. they are very much worth the money. i buy them from the dealer for about $42 per side for the outer seal. you figure the original ones last in upwards of 20 years. how can you go wrong?
wish the dealer here had them that cheap.

well maybe there was something wrong with the ones i got or they just sent the wrong ones, idk. i had to actually trim them cause it was like they were too big in some areas, and they tend to want to stick to the opening at the top, so much so that there's even paint transfer. i plan to post pix when i make the swap.

use mazdatrix or the parts catalog in my sig to find the part number. its more reliable than using the "interactive" so to speak catalog

Here's my experience:

Summary - bought Metro LM107 seals, returned them, and bought from dealer. Save yourself a step!

So it seems like for the doors, most say go with the ones from mazda.
(I had the black dragon ones on my old car and I hated them)
What about for the rear hatch and sun roof?

Ok here is the final answer for you all, Mazda and Mazdatrix sell only the OEM ones all the others no matter who they are sold by are made by metros source which seems to be soft seal the mold they made to repop them is a little bit large and because of that they don't fit just quite right. If your car is old and loose they will tighten it up, if it in correct alignment and spec they aren't right. This is why there is a large difference in quality. The factory ones have molded corners the repop ones have cut and glued corners.
I just bought these, except off ebay for 62.99 free shipping. supposed to get them today
