Do the hazard lights use a separate relay?

I just noticed that my hazard lights do not work. I checked the fuse, it's fine, and the turn signals work fine. I'm wondering if there is a separate relay for the hazards lights, or does it use the same relay as the turn signals?

Same unit as the turn signals. Probably a bad CPU or a bad hazard switch (could be unplugged too).

Edit: This may help too.

Thanks. I hope the CPU itself is OK! I'll check out the switch tonight, hopefully it'll be something simple.

Thanks for the diagram!

Tonight I'll check the continuity on the combo switch. Any other thoughts on troubleshooting? If the Hazards and Turn Signals use the same relay then I guess I can rule that out because the turn signals work fine. If the switch checks out OK then were do you think I should look next?

The reason I was concerned about this is that I need a State Inspection before I can get my license plates. I just read the Texas criteria and hazard lights aren't tested. Of course I want to fix it though, again, I just hope it's not the CPU.

Well, the CPU is cheap enough (used). Just kind of a pain to get to a couple of the nuts to get the thing out. Other than that, it is no big deal to change out.

Thanks for your replies. What's the best source on-line for finding one? Just in case I need to go that route. I've not established any local salvage yards, I'd prefer to just find one on-line. Is this something black dragon sells?

When you figure your hazard light issue, let me know, because I'm having it, too.
My car has passed TX inspection with out them, though.

This morning, I finally figured out (after a couple of years) that my odd digital clock
behavior was due to a bad fuse. It would reset to 1:00 whenever I started the car,
and if I opened the door. It would also fade in and out. I guess the fuse just wore
out, and was "hanging by a thread" for awhile. Weird.

used is the way to go on these. Probably not available new, and if they were, they'd be expensive. Best bet is on here (1st gen classified) or ebay. Another helpful site if you want to hit local salvage yards is:

I pulled the switch out last night, low and behold the hazards worked. Put the switch back in and they didn't work. So checked the connectors and what not, I think something was just a bit loose. Now it's all put back together and it all works. I hate electrical problems, and I'm an electrical engineer. Let me rephrase, I love work electrical issues, but not on my own cars.
