Distributor....hmmm..No vacume.

When i removed the rats nest all i did was plug the two vac lines in the distributor, is that all i needed to do with those? My timing is off and i was wondering if that may be why.....

Dont plug the nipples on the dizzy. Leave them open to atmosphere.

If you previously set the timing with the vacuum advance connected the timing will be different at idle now.

You're meant to set the timing with it disconnected anyway so reset the timing.

Its fine to leave it. It helps with driveability and gas milage. Racers dont use it and lock their timing so theres one less thing to fail during a race, and they stay in mid to hi rpms most of the time so it doesnt affect them.
