Direct fit fuel pump?
hey guys, So I have recently got a great barn find 1985 Mazda rx-7 S, amazing condition and only $2000 cdn and its rust free and the engine is in decent shape minus maintenance being needed since it was parked for the last 5 years, anyways I've been refreshing everything on the car and replacing lots of parts. I'm looking for a fuel pump that is close as possible to direct fit and the correct specs needed for an 85 (carb, not direct injection) as i can get it running after starting it like 20-30 times and it revving up then stalling after a few seconds, but got it running for 30 minutes ish a few times since doing a full cleanout of the gas tank, replacing the strainer and replacing the fuel filter. so now it runs much better as the gas tank was in bad shape beforehand but it still has trouble with stalling anytime you give it gas or try to rev, and it tends to stall many times before finally getting it to run at idle and playing with the choke. I've watched the carb too and think that also needs a cleanup/ rebuild but since its rans a few times for extended periods I'm thinking the fuel pump has got weak since its the stock one from 85' and should be replaced either way. the jets do dribble abit after turning it off, and the left one releases more gas than the left so maybe clogged jets as well but might as well do the easier step of replacing the fuel pump first since I'm mostly just trying to make it drivable so I can store it 10 minutes away and work on it over winter, but i cant get it towed into the place I pay storage on. I've fixed everything else needed so far i need need it to be drivable enough to get 10 mins away before winter comes and a full carb rebuild when I'm new to carbs seems risky at the moment so if i can get away with the pump first that's preferred. anyways I've dragged this post out enough if anyone has good recommendations on close to direct fit fuel pump available shipping to Canada that would be much appreciated, heres a few I've seen online that might work, if anyone else has used it and know they work please let me know (the last link seems right and it said to be direct fit but its like $220 canadian so very expensive...would prefer to spend less if i can) thanks everyone for any imput

This is a factory 1983-1985 12A fuel pump. It is no longer available via Mazda but the 1979-1982 works, you just need to route the line a little different. Are you sure the pump is at fault and not the fuel pump relay? Do you have 12V with key ON at the fuel pump connector in the bin area behind the drivers seat?
