Did I lose compression?

I had just got done fixing my fuel leak and started it up...let it run for a minute and then i barely rev it up and it makes some noise from the motor and then started running really bad...as if only running on 1 rotor. I then pull the plugs to check them...decided they were bad so i replaced them with the new NGK's i already had and it still runs bad and has NO power when driving it. Im thinking i lost compression in one rotor but wanted to get input from everybody on here.

Pull the plugs on the front rotor and hand turn. Listen for the Puffs and how strong they are. Put the plugs back in and repeat with the rears.

Report back with your findings Sargent

Yes. I don't think anyone can differentiate if it is starter spun.

Just grab a belt and spin it over.

Ok i will try it later today if i get the time....but at the latest i will do it tomorrow. I will get back to you when i find out anything.

Im actually hoping the motor is a loss because i have a T2 motor here locally that i can get for dirt cheap...this is just a reason to do the work and install it.

Kill the fuel pump and spark, pull a front plug, crank it over with the starter. Hand crank, no thank you.

If you just fixed a fuel leak it and then the problem arose, it should logically be something related to the work you did. Try checking your pump and filter unless you already have. There's no reason for the motor to just suddenly lose compression because of a fixed fuel leak. Do as Troichoid said and have a friend crank it over and see if you get the 3 equal puffs per rotor or not.

Wellllll, this 180 lb old man has found that using the key is much easier. Beside, I like my fingers and have come too close to getting them caught between the belt and pulley. Many years ago, I found out 1st hand what that feels like.

+1 on the starter doing the cranking. Worked for me! Keep the starter engaged for no more than 10 seconds. That'll ensure you hear the puffs.
