Dellorto DHLA 40 and Turbo
Would this setup work well together? I am thinking of doing a small turbo setup (175 hp) and the Dellorto 40 seems like it would be a good carb for boost.

I think the nikki only flows just over 300 CFM. not shure of exact number though, i have heard numbers from 313 to 330. so the dell 40 should be a plenty big gain for turbo, right?

Maybe you didn't hear me right. A 40 with 37mm chokes will not run very well due to there not being a big enough pressure drop to pull the fuel out the carb. To get it running right you'll need 30-34mm chokes and they're going to flow about 250 cfm tops... I'm running a 45dcoe on my turbo 13b and runs out of breath up high. I need to step up to a 48 of a 51... 45's or 44's are recomended for street use w/o porting. get your hands on a 40 some time they're teeny tiny. look down the barrels and look down your nikki. Wow the barrels are about the same size as the nikki's, and the nikki has 4...

mine has already been moded to work on a 12A I aint saying its a great carb i am just sayng it will work. There are better carbs out there but on a street port or stock port the 40 should work a little better than stock. I also have a upgraded fuel pump.

40 IDF will work well for a street/race application
I received your e-mail today. Just shoot me a telephone number so I can call you later this evening so we can discuss details if need parts to complete your system. You asked about the Intake manifold but, your going to need more that just the carb.
Jetting the carb right for your application is the key to making good reliable power. It can be done with a 40 IDF and cheap compared to most other turbo setups I am aware of.
