Dead compressor... or so it seems?
when i drove to school today, i noticed that when i turned on the a/c the air did not get cooler... i decided to pull over and check under the hood--which everything seemed fine. when you turn on the a/c, the clutch of the compressor does not engage (so it seems) thus no a/c for me. since i am at school right now, and i have a 1 hour break, what simple things (since i have almost no tools with me) can i do to try to fix my compressor or see what is wrong with it?

right now it's raining and i don't wanna go out... but if i do that with the green wire and it does engage, what's my problem? is it an electrical problem?
The connectors on my pressure valve came loose the other day and caused mine to stop working.
You should be able to pull the rubber cover infront of the radiator and get to the low pressure switch to check.
You can also bypass the switch at the relay.
The relay should be the one closest to your Hot Start Assist motor. There is a blue wire comming off of it that goes foward to the pressure switch, them back into the cabin.
Mine has spade disconnects, just unplug them from the normal position, and plug the two remaining short lines together (from relay, into cabin (joins with yellow wire into a wrapped harness)) and you will have bypassed the pressure switch.
Or at least that's how it's setup on my 82.

hehe... sorry guys, i've got 2 parts cars and both have working a/c
but i'm only using them as last ditch efforts since i believe my compressor is still good, just that i have some electrical problems.
