dash switches on a 81?

1981 GSL - on my dash to the right of the steering wheel, I have a mystery switch / lever. There is the power mirror switch, which doesn't seem to move my mirrors, the dimmer ****, and a weird 3 way switch that has a center neutral position, and a up / down. it appears to be factory wiring, but there is nowhere for this switch to go? tracing it doesn't do me any good, either. it just kinda goes up into stuff. it also doesn't seem to do anything when I mess with it. pictures soon as I apparently took one, and then deleted it.

the heck is it?!

You're best to post a picture of the switch in question when you get a chance. You should have a fuel door release, hatch release, choke, dimmer, and mirror switch on the dash. I don't think there are any other switches.

The wiring diagram has the layout of all the switches and wiring that goes to it.

I'll snag a picture here in a bit.

Here's said switch. I do not see it in the diagram so I will be following the wires as far back as I can. It was installed extremely well, but for what? Lol now I'm on the hunt.
