oh FYI, the "carb hat" came off an early 90's taurus and the pipe came off a mid 90's escort with the sefi engine or whatever..

yo dankus, this is just a crazy thought, but do you think a little k&n oil breather filter on the hole on the side of the "carb hat" would do anything? or should i just plug it off,
just a random idea
never hurts to ask

you know now that you mention it thats a good idea, ive experienced carb venturi freeze up a couple of times , it happens if temps below 37 or so but still above freezing, 100 percent humidity was the culprit, fortunately letting it set for just a couple minutes let engine heat build back through carb and shes good to go, maybe that little filter would allow a little engine heat back into air stream , I even got wone on the intake pipe to airpump , which i cut the belt to, i used a red urethanne bushing to plug mine
